How do I activate my Pay with GasBuddy+™ card?

Scan the QR Code

  1. Scan the QR Code: The piece of paper that came with your card may have a QR code printed on it.  Use the camera on your smartphone to scan the code.  It will open the GasBuddy app to the activation screen.
  2. Enter card details: Follow the prompts and enter the last 4 digits of your card.
  3. You’re all set! Your card is now active and ready to use.

If you run into any issues, simply restart your GasBuddy app, and activate through the app instead. 
 

Activate in the app:

Step 1: Make sure your app is up to date

  1. Confirm that you have the latest version of the app installed.
     

Step 2: Open your Member Tab

  1. Tap the Member icon along the bottom of the app
  2. You should then be prompted to activate your card
     

If you don’t see the “Member” tab

  1. You may be using an older version of the app. Follow these steps instead:
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Select Savings Settings.
  4. Tap Your Pay with GasBuddy+™ Account.
  5. Select Manage Membership.

 

Activate on the web:

  1. Go to https://pay.gasbuddy.com/enroll/activate (please make sure you Log in with the email you used to sign up)
  2. Follow the prompts to activate your card

If this card was sent to you automatically as part of the launch, you will also need to agree to our E-Consent terms, as well as updated GasBuddy Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Charge Card Agreement, and Dwolla's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.  

 

Why can't I activate my card?

  • Bank Verification: Your card can only be activated after your bank account is verified.
    • Routing and Account Numbers: If you linked your bank by providing these, confirm two small deposits in your account. Then, wait about 4 business days for verification.
    • Online Credentials: If you linked your bank using online credentials, you’ll see a small deposit and withdrawal within 1-4 business days. Once you see the withdrawal, your bank is verified, and you can activate your card.
  • Login Issues: Make sure you’re logged in with the correct account used to sign up.
  • Outdated App: Remove and reinstall the GasBuddy app on your device, ensuring you have the latest version of the app downloaded.
