How do I earn GasBack through the Card Linked Offers program?
Add one or more eligible Mastercard, Visa or American Express cards to your GasBuddy account. Browse available offers and select “Activate” to link an offer with your card. Once an offer is activated, simply use the linked card to make your purchase that meets the terms and conditions of the offer.
Offers must be activated in order to be eligible to earn the GasBack.
Do I need to activate an offer if I've already linked my credit card?
Yes. All offers must be activated to be eligible for GasBack. You activate an offer by tapping into an offer and selecting the “Activate” button. After a period of time specified within the offer’s details, the GasBack will be automatically added to your account for the corresponding purchase on your linked card.
Do the activated offers expire?
Yes, Card Linked Offers expire. Expiration dates are specific to each offer and are at the merchant’s discretion. Details about the offer and its expiration can be found on the offer’s details page.
When will my GasBack be available?
Earned GasBack will show up in your account within 1-3 business days (Mon-Fri, excluding holidays)!
Where can I view my GasBack and Transactions?
You can view your GasBack and Transaction history in the GasBuddy app by following these steps:
- Ensure you’re using the latest version of the GasBuddy app
- Open the app and tap the Savings tab (button along the bottom of the screen)
- Your available GasBack will be shown at the top of this page!
You can view your Transaction History by clicking the View Transactions link as well. Then, to see more details about a transaction, you can click on that specific transaction.
Can I earn GasBack for purchases made over the phone/ online?
This information will be specified within the offer details. In most cases Card Linked Offers are only valid for purchases made in person at the physical locations. Orders placed via phone call are not eligible to earn GasBack. If you wish to order online, please visit the Online Section of the Savings tab in the GasBuddy app.
Do I need my receipt?
Yes. If the GasBack from your activated offer does not automatically apply to your account, within the timeframe listed in the offer’s details, we will need your receipt in order to investigate.
Do I need to upload my receipt?
No, you will not need to upload your receipt, however you should keep your receipts in the rare case that the GasBack does not automatically process. If that were to happen then we will need your receipt in order to investigate.
Can I use my debit card to earn GasBack?
It is recommended that you use an eligible Mastercard, Visa, or American Express credit card for your Card Linked Offer program purchases. If you choose to use your debit card, do not enter your PIN at checkout. Instead, select “credit” instead of “debit” when your card is swiped or inserted (you will need to sign a receipt instead of entering your PIN). If you use your PIN for debit, GasBuddy will not receive your transaction information and you will not be eligible for or receive GasBack for the purchase.
Can I use my Pay with GasBuddy card to earn GasBack?
No, your Pay with GasBuddy card can only be used to purchase fuel at the pump. For more information on how to use your Pay with GasBuddy card, click here.
Can I use my store branded credit card to earn GasBack?
GasBuddy GasBack is awarded when American Express, Mastercard, and VISA report your linked purchase to us. Unfortunately, most store branded cards, even if they have a major credit card logo, are processed through the store’s bank and not the major credit card networks. This prevents us from being able to award GasBack on these transactions. An example of this would be a Home Depot credit card.
Can I earn In-Store GasBack when using a mobile payment method, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay?
We recommend using only physical cards for Card Linked Offer program purchases because we do not consistently receive mobile wallet transaction details from Mastercard, Visa, or American Express. Without this transaction information, we cannot award your GasBack.
What if I don’t get the GasBack?
If three business days have passed and your GasBack has not been assigned to your account, please submit a ticket here. Please ensure you select GasBack and Deal Alerts> Card Linked Offers> Missing GasBack for a faster response!
