Is My Banking Information Secure?
It can be scary to see an unknown transaction on your bank statement.
As transactions can take 1-3 business days, not including weekends or holidays, to be withdrawn from your linked account, we ask that you first take a look at your transaction history in the Savings portion of your GasBuddy app to see if the unknown transaction is a previously authorized transaction. Make sure you are logged in with your correct account to view accurate transaction details.
How to Dispute a Transaction
If you notice a suspicious transaction on your card, please Reset your Driver ID immediately. If your card has been skimmed or compromised, this will stop the card from being usable to anyone with the previous Driver ID. Please submit a ticket to our Support team (Select Pay With GasBuddy > My Transactions > Transaction Dispute for ticket categories) or contact us at 617-207-6686 during business hours to speak with an agent, request a callback, or leave a voicemail.
Your card will be deactivated while the investigation takes place, and your card will not be able to be used to make new fuel purchases during that time. Transaction Dispute investigations typically take 2-5 business days, not including weekends or holidays. This is often much quicker than the dispute process with most major financial institutions, so we do recommend reaching out to our support team first!
Is My Banking Information Secure?
One of the many ways that we protect your information is by not storing any of your personal information on the Pay With GasBuddy card, which helps to protect against increased card skimmer activity. This means that your banking information is not stored on your card, nor can it be retrieved through your card. As such, closing down/freezing your linked checking account is not necessary. For more information on how we keep your banking information secure, please read our article on Dwolla, the payment platform we use to securely process transactions.
