About GasBuddy Drives
Drives is a new way to save with GasBuddy. It will help you keep track of your driving habits and make small suggestions on how to save more on fuel.
To access the Drives section of the app select My Car at the bottom of the app, then tap Drives. From there, tap Turn Drives On.
Each drive can be selected individually to show more detail such as time spent, and any hard brakes, accelerations, or speeding that may have adversely affected your fuel efficiency on a given drive.
GasBuddy is able to detect speeding, braking, and acceleration through a combination of geo-coordinates, gyroscope, and accelerometer information that your phone already tracks.
Note: A drive is detected after approximately 2 minutes of constant motion and stops detecting after approximately 2 minutes of stillness. This accommodates for things like traffic lights which may cause you to stop for a while, but not be the end of your drive.
Deleting a Drive
Tap the individual drive in the list, then tap Delete This Drive, at the bottom of the page.

Drives Troubleshooting
Unfortunately, for our Australian GasBuddy users, Drives will no longer be available as of July 7, 2020. A change in our partnership which powers GasBuddy Drives has lead to us to no longer be able to provide support for this feature in this region.
Between March 26, 2020 and April 6, 2020 GasBuddy Drives was unavailable for all users between. During this period of unavailability, Drives were not recorded. Due to technical reasons, Drives prior to this interruption will no longer include recorded events (braking, speeding, etc.) or fuel efficiency ratings.
