About Deal Alerts
You can now get up to 5X the fuel savings by activating special offers in the app! Simply search for a station in the GasBuddy® app, activate the Deal Alert, and purchase fuel at the station!
How it works with the Pay with GasBuddy Card
Deal Alert discounts include your current Pay with GasBuddy card discount.
You will need to activate the offer before making a fuel purchase at that specific station and make your purchase with your Pay with GasBuddy card. The discount will be applied to the transaction prior to being withdrawn from your linked bank account.
You won’t see our discount at the pump, or on the station-provided receipt. You will receive a receipt from GasBuddy and be able to review the discount details for that purchase.
How it works without the Pay with GasBuddy Card
Activate the offer in the app before proceeding to that specific station, you will be given a timer to make the purchase, and you can make the purchase with a supported card¹. You will then need to upload a photo of your pump receipt in the GasBuddy app. If the purchase is made with a supported¹ card and not the Pay with GasBuddy card, the discount will be reduced by your current Pay with GasBuddy discount.
Your savings will be awarded to your GasBuddy account in the form of a GasBack credit. In order to redeem your GasBack, use can use the Pay With GasBuddy card to purchase fuel. If you don’t have the card yet, you can sign up by clicking here.

Uploading a photo of the receipt
If you were unable to use the Pay With GasBuddy card, you will need to upload the receipt from your purchase. To upload a photo of your receipt please return to the station details page (where you activated the offer) and click the “ I didn’t use my card” button. For some smaller offers this button may not be available.
The app will then prompt you to take a photo of the receipt and answer a few questions about your receipt.
Alternatively, you will have received an inbox message in your GasBuddy inbox, stating that you have activated an offer! A link to upload the receipt will be provided in this message as well.
Please note that there is a time limit for uploading your receipt and some smaller deal alerts will require you to use the Pay with GasBuddy card (There will be no upload receipt option).
The uploaded receipt will need to include the following information on it:
- Address of the station
- Time the transaction was made
- Amount of gallons purchased
- Grade of fuel
- Payment method
Due to this, a pre-paid receipt will not be accepted, and you will need to get a receipt for the actual transaction after it is completed. These are often printed out at pumps, or a re-print can be requested inside the station.
Deals are personalized for each individual and will often vary between stations and users. What determines the offer you get is a combination of the gas station's current business needs (how much business they have, if they want more business, what the margins currently are etc) and your relationship with that gas station.
As well, deals are inclusive of your Pay with GasBuddy card discount. This can vary between users depending on the program that they are in.
Don't see the GasBack in your account
If you didn’t use your Pay With GasBuddy card and opted to use a different form of payment, you will need to upload your receipt in order for the GasBack to be applied to your account. After your receipt has been uploaded the system will need 1-10 days to process the receipt and award the GasBack to your account.
Some factors that may alter or decline the discount include the following:
- If combined with an additional discount/ loyalty program, other than the Pay with GasBuddy card, the discount is reduced
- The fuel Grade purchased will affect the discount received
- If the purchase was not made within the four-hour window the offer will be void
- If the purchase was made with cash the offer will be void
- If you are a Pay with GasBuddy member and don't use the Pay with GasBuddy card, the discount will be reduced.
