*The GasBuddy Daily Draw is only available to eligible Canadian and US users.
What are the different Leaderboards and how are they determined?
GasBuddy offers two leaderboards:
- Price Report Leaderboard has you competing against GasBuddies reporting in your area in terms of good prices reported.
- Points Leaderboard compares you to GasBuddies in your area in terms of points earned. You can earn points through reporting prices and completing challenges.
Leaderboards are based on a 30-day rolling total. Points you've earned 31 days ago will fall off your total.
Ensure location services are enabled and you are reporting at the station for price reports to count.
The leaderboard considers your top 10 most reported stations, and other members reporting at these same stations.
In the app, to view points and leaderboards tap Win at the bottom of the screen, then Points. You can also view your points and leaderboards by tapping your profile icon on the home screen, then tap Points.
What are top spotters?
This system takes into consideration only the last 30 days, so you'd have to report at least one price per day to maintain the top spot. Once you miss a day, it takes 30 consecutive days of price reporting to make up for that missed day. Meanwhile, if another member reports steadily, not missing a day in 30 days, they will pass you in the list.
Ensure location services are enabled and you are reporting at the station for price reports to count.
What are consecutive days?
Consecutive Days is a count of how many days in a row you have earned points on GasBuddy.
If you miss a day of points earning of any kind, your consecutive days count will start over. At least one points-earning action per day must be taken to keep the count going.
To view consecutive days:
APP- Tap the profile button in top-left corner the home screen, then select Points. Here you will see your Consecutive Days Reporting.
WEB- Hover over the profile icon in the top right corner, then select My Account
What are Challenges, and how do I complete them?
Challenges ask you to do something in the app. After completion, you will typically be awarded points and achievements.
There is a rotation of daily, weekly, and monthly challenges and, at times, entirely unique challenges.
These can be viewed by tapping the Win button at the bottom of the GasBuddy app. In order to complete a challenge, the challenge requirements must be satisfied and completed within the time frame (if applicable).
Challenges are available on the latest version of Android and iOS. In order for challenges to show, the following criteria must be met:
- You are signed in to your account
- Location services are enabled
- Your device's date and time is set to automatic
