Trips is a new way to save, with GasBuddy. It is designed to help you keep track of your driving habits, and make small suggestions on how to save more on fuel.
To access the Trips section of the app, tap "GO" in the MY TRIPS section of the For You (home) page.
Each trip can be selected individually, to show more detail such as time spent, and any hard brake, accelerations, or speeding that may have adversely affected your fuel efficiency on a given trip.
GasBuddy is able to detect speeding, braking, and acceleration through a combination of geo-coordinates, gyroscope, and accelerometer information that your phone already tracks.
Note: A trip is detected after approximately 2 minutes of constant motion, and stops detecting after approximately 2 minutes of stillness, to accommodate things like traffic lights, which may cause you to stop for a while, but not be the end of your trip.
Can a Trip be deleted?
Yes. To do this, tap the individual trip in the list, then tap Delete This Trip, at the bottom of the page.
I don't like saving money on fuel! How do I turn it off?
GasBuddy Trips can be turned off at any time, in a number of spots:
- Tap the pause button on the Trips page
- Tap the question mark (help) icon in the top, right-hand corner of the Trips page, then tap PAUSE TRIP DETECTION
- In the app Settings (outside of the Trips page), toggle Trips Detection off.
